Our extra-curricular highlights
Rotation Days: Building Skills, Confidence, and Connections
At Kitchener Public School, our weekly Rotation Day gives students the opportunity to experience Music, Art, Culture, and Sport lessons with specialist teachers. These sessions allow students to explore their creativity, express themselves through movement and art, and develop teamwork and sportsmanship skills.
Rotation Day also helps students build resilience as they transition between different classrooms and teachers, preparing them for future learning environments. By engaging with a variety of passionate educators across the school, students form new relationships, discover their strengths, and gain confidence in diverse learning settings.
It’s a day filled with energy, creativity, and connection—celebrating the many talents within our school community.
Team Spirit Through Dance and Sport
At Kitchener Public School, our dance and PSSA sport teams provide students with opportunities to shine beyond the classroom. These programs help students build confidence, teamwork, and perseverance while developing skills in movement, coordination, and fair play.
Through dance, students express creativity, build rhythm and fitness, and experience the joy of performing as part of a team. Our PSSA sport teams promote resilience, sportsmanship, and school pride as students represent Kitchener in friendly competition with other schools.
Both programs foster a sense of belonging, encourage goal-setting, and celebrate effort and improvement—helping every student grow as a confident, capable team player.
Celebrating Academic Excellence and Student Voice
At Kitchener Public School, we take pride in nurturing confident, capable learners through a range of academic opportunities. Our Stage 3 students participate in the Newcastle Permanent Mathematics Competition, where they challenge themselves to apply problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and persistence beyond the classroom.
We also hold a whole-school Public Speaking Competition, giving every student the chance to develop their confidence, communication skills, and ability to express ideas clearly. These programs encourage students to think critically, speak with purpose, and celebrate personal growth and achievement.
Through academic challenge and creativity, our students are inspired to aim high and believe in their potential.
