A year at our school
Colour Run 4 Fun Brings Joy, Colour, and a Tech Boost!
Kitchener Public School burst into a rainbow of excitement for our annual Colour Run 4 Fun! Laughter echoed across the oval as students raced through clouds of colour, cheered on by friends, families, and teachers. It was more than just a fun day—it was a chance for our school community to come together and raise much-needed funds to update our school’s technology.
Thanks to the incredible effort of our students, families, and supporters, we raised an amazing $10,463! The enthusiasm was contagious—from the creative fundraising efforts to the colourful celebrations at the finish line. Students were thrilled to receive prizes for their fundraising achievements, but the real reward was the unforgettable day filled with colour, teamwork, and smiles.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Colour Run such a vibrant success. Your support is helping us create brighter, more connected classrooms for every learner at Kitchener!
Grandparents Day Celebrates Connection Across Generations
This week, Kitchener Public School was filled with smiles and laughter as we welcomed our wonderful grandparents for an afternoon of fun and celebration. Students proudly opened their classrooms, sharing what learning looks like today. Together, they enjoyed a variety of activities—from hands-on craft projects and student-led interviews to exciting online quiz games on our school laptops.
The joy on students’ faces as they showcased their work and technology skills was matched only by the pride of their grandparents. It was a heartwarming afternoon that celebrated the special bond between generations and reminded us all that learning is even more meaningful when shared with family.
Growing Together at Kitchener Public School
Kitchener Public School recently had the privilege of welcoming Tracy and James from Kiray Putjung Aboriginal Corporation, a volunteer-run organisation supporting local and First Nations communities. Together, we planted native Aboriginal plants, bush foods, vegetables, herbs, and fruit plants, creating a vibrant garden space that will benefit our whole school.
Students from both mainstream and support classes have taken great pride in caring for the garden—watering, observing growth, and maintaining the space daily. This hands-on experience is deepening their understanding of sustainability, teamwork, and Indigenous knowledge, while strengthening their connection to Country and community.
We sincerely thank Tracy, James, and Kiray Putjung Aboriginal Corporation for sharing their time, knowledge, and cultural wisdom. We look forward to watching our garden flourish and continuing to learn together.
